Sunny Baby Quilt

I always like to do baby quilts as it's in small size. Therefore, you can just complete the whole quilt in a day (without any distraction from my BOYS).  I found an easy and straight forward little baby quilt tutorial on Craft Buds. It's really a quick and an easy baby quilt pattern that you can try out over the weekend! I used 3-4 days to finish the whole quilt. Thank you Craft Buds for sharing this tutorial with us.

Here is my Sunny Baby Quilt. It's a quilt to make for a friend who's going to give birth to a baby girl in this summer!

After doing some quilts, I discovered a brilliant foot for binding a quilt. If you are using a Bernina sewing machine you can try to get Bernina Edgestitch foot 10D . There is a guide blade in the center of the foot which can help to guide the edge of your binding on the quilt. I believe you can get this foot from the online sewing machine shops or any of your local sewing machine shops. I got mine from the Bernina Malaysia.

Can you see where did I place the guiding blade? It's right next to the edge of my red binding strip.

So, question, how about the needle position? I set -2 to the right so that the needle will sew right at the edge of my binding strip.

Tada...... nicely done! Isn't this foot is doing a smart job? What a cleaver invention! Thanks Bernina.

You may have other way of doing your binding or could be other perfect foot for the binding. Come and drop me a line to share your experience with me.

More baby quilts

Hey, I'm back again to my blog! The reason I left this blog for long time because I was so busy with my life! huh! I made few baby quilts, I did my "Life in the UK test", attending antenatal and pilate classes etc....  Here are the quilts that I have made.

I made this quilt out of Riley Blake Designs: Fox Trails by doohikey designs.
I love this fabric line so much ..... I bought this fabric from The Sproutz Store on Etsy. They are doing CLEARANCE SALE at the moment. Quickly grab some fabrics from this store before the sale goes!

Look at this adorable car seat quilt! Well, the two little toys are not my babies! My husband put the two little toys in the picture as the model for the car seat quilt! The fabric line that I used was the Peak Hour by Kellie Wulfsohn from Riley Blake Designs. You can buy this fabric from The Sproutz Store. They have a great selection of Riley Blake fabrics. You can get the tutorial of this design from Moda Bake Shop by Jennie of Clover & Violet

Spring has sprung!

I can finally feel the sun and smell the fragrance of the flowers!!! Daffodil - the national flower of Wales, UK. Yes they are daffodils! Spring is here! This picture is taken in Rowhay Park, Leeds. I hope the weather will be like this for the whole spring!

Here is a baby girl quilt that I made two weeks ago. The reason I made this quilt is I hope I will have a baby girl. Isn't that adorable?

The final quilt size is 36 "x 40 1/2 "

I was thinking to make a quilt or play mat out of this panal. But my husband said it looks like a girl panal? What do you think?

Baby Quilts

Hi everybody I'm still alive! I've been away for quite a few months. I'm happy to announce that I'm going to be a mom soon! I can't believe I'm already halfway through my pregnancy! I felt so terrible during my first trimester - extremely tired, no appetite, very sick..... I didn't have stamina to do any sewing! But now my energy is getting back! Therefore, I have finished all my incomplete quilts!

These are the baby quilts that I've been longing to finish for a long time......

Is this suitable for a girl or a boy?

This is definitely for a girl!

I hope my baby will like the quilts!
