The Splendid Sampler Block 1 & Block 2

In my previous blog, I shared the pictures of some beautiful Japanese designer's fabrics. Today, I'm going to show you what I have made out of those fabric.

This is my first time taking part in a sampler quilt. It's real fun. I have finally done my block 1 and block 2 after how many days ..... It took me ages to finish the blocks. It's really challenging in cutting and piecing the tiny piece of fabrics. I have unpicked so many times to get it aligned! Yet, still not perfect! What a long journey for me to get to block 24 .......

Block 1 - Hearts Aflutter

Block 2 - Wings

They are stories behind each block. Thank you Pat Sloan and Jane Davidson for these two beautiful blocks.  If you would like to join us you can see the link here to find out more about this fun project.

The Splendid Sampler

I bought this gorgeous range of the Japanese designer fabrics on last Friday in Bernina Malaysia. I'm now thinking to make something out of this fabrics. A sampler quilt would be really nice.

I have never joined any of the sampler quilt project online before. This is going to be my first time and I'm going to challenge myself for this time. I love this idea and when I looking at the blocks from the creative quilters, it was really captured me to take part in this long run project. You can find the beautiful blocks here.  Good thing about this sampler quilt is, each block is only 6 inches. Just a nice size for me to learn the technique of crochet and some hand stitching blocks.

Would you like to join me in this project? You can find more about this in here

Coin Purse 口金包

In my previous post, I shared some pictures of the coin purses that I have made.

Today I'm going to introduce the beautiful fabrics that I used for this gorgeous purse. The main fabric that is in front of this purse is from Tilda's Autumn/Winter 2015's collection. It's called Sofia Blue. I believe you can easily get it from your local quilting and patchwork shops. I particularly love to shop Tilda's fabric in Bernina Malaysia. They have a complete series of the Tilda's collection. Beautiful fabrics and nice people. How many of you actually know about this brand, Tilda? It was actually founded by a Norwegian designer Tone Finnager in 1999 aged 25. She's known for its whimsical and native characters in the form of animals and dolls.

Now, come to the side of the purse. I used the Home Essentials collection from RJR by Robyn Pandolf. Robyn is a successful fabric designer for over 10 years now. In terms of choosing the right frame for your design, make sure you measure the width of the frame from one end to the other end. Your paper pattern should have mentioned in it.

Stitch n Sing is back after three years!

My dear bloggers, I'm back!

Stitch n Sing is back
I was in hibernation for three years due to relocating, performances, giving birth and baby sitting! I'm finally back in my BLOG! My life was full of excitement and blessings for the past three years in Malaysia. Yes, I moved back to Malaysia with my family couple of years ago. I'm truly blessed as my beloved husband bought me a Bernina B780 and in the same time I gave birth to a second baby too!

Spring has sprung!

I can finally feel the sun and smell the fragrance of the flowers!!! Daffodil - the national flower of Wales, UK. Yes they are daffodils! Spring is here! This picture is taken in Rowhay Park, Leeds. I hope the weather will be like this for the whole spring!

Here is a baby girl quilt that I made two weeks ago. The reason I made this quilt is I hope I will have a baby girl. Isn't that adorable?

The final quilt size is 36 "x 40 1/2 "

I was thinking to make a quilt or play mat out of this panal. But my husband said it looks like a girl panal? What do you think?
