Hex N More ruler

I love playing with rulers. Making different kind of blocks by using different shapes of the rulers. Today I'm going to feature a special ruler which can make a shape of a hexagon block. Isn't that sound gorgeous? It's Hex N More by Julie Herman from Jaybird Quilts. This ruler comes in two different sizes.

The Splendid Sampler Block 12, 14, 21 & 25

The Splendid Sampler Blocks are getting more challenging and interesting! I can't stop doing it. I'm a bit behind in the group but I'm slowly catching up. I'm not very good in hand embroidery, I may probably leave the hand stitching blocks at the back. Hopefully not!

Here are the continue of block 12, 14, 21 and 25.  Kindly leave your comments on my blog or follow me on my flickr and pinterest!

Thank you Celine Perkins for the beautiful Simple Simon block. It's not simple at all for me.

Splendid sampler - Block 8
There is a slight challenge for me in cutting block 8. As I hardly measure on 7/8" and 5/8" measurements. Thanks again to Julie for this splendid block.

The Splendid Sampler Block 1 & Block 2

In my previous blog, I shared the pictures of some beautiful Japanese designer's fabrics. Today, I'm going to show you what I have made out of those fabric.

This is my first time taking part in a sampler quilt. It's real fun. I have finally done my block 1 and block 2 after how many days ..... It took me ages to finish the blocks. It's really challenging in cutting and piecing the tiny piece of fabrics. I have unpicked so many times to get it aligned! Yet, still not perfect! What a long journey for me to get to block 24 .......

Block 1 - Hearts Aflutter

Block 2 - Wings

They are stories behind each block. Thank you Pat Sloan and Jane Davidson for these two beautiful blocks.  If you would like to join us you can see the link here to find out more about this fun project.
